Hurricane Preparedness Part 3: Coca-Cola UNITED on Post-Storm Recovery
During a hurricane, organizations must have a way to contact their employees to ensure their physical safety and offer disaster relief.
In 2018, Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc faced an enormous challenge when Hurricane Michael devastated the cell phone infrastructure in Panama City.
In the final episode of our three-part series on hurricane preparedness, we interviewed Gianetta Jones, Vice President & Chief People Officer at Coca-Cola Bottling, to learn how the company overcame this destructive event and why communication was key to doing so.
What we talked about:
- How to contact and care for your people before, during, and after a hurricane
- Strategies to help disaster communications run smoothly
- How to respond when power and telephone infrastructures are unavailable
- Why there’s no such thing as over-preparing for a hurricane
