We’re proud to introduce The Employee Safety Podcast—a weekly interview series where we discuss how organizations can protect their people and stay connected no matter the challenge.

At AlertMedia, we believe that maintaining employee safety during critical events starts with being prepared—knowing what to expect when the unexpected happens and being able to use that knowledge to change outcomes.

Every day, businesses face a wide array of threats: severe weather, acts of violence, a global pandemic, to name a few. The Employee Safety Podcast discusses how organizations can protect their people and stay connected no matter the challenge—whether their employees are in the office, working remotely, or traveling for business.

Each episode of The Employee Safety Podcast features an interview with a leader in employee safety, discussing topics such as emergency preparedness, business continuity, critical communication, severe weather, pandemic response, and more.

We want this podcast to serve as the premier resource for safety, security, business continuity, and disaster recovery professionals all over the world, and subscribers can expect fresh insights and advice from some of the foremost thinkers in the industry.

The Employee Safety Podcast is hosted by AlertMedia’s Peter Steinfeld. Peter has been involved in the emergency communications industry since 2001, and his nearly two decades of experience working with safety and disaster recovery leaders make him the perfect host for this groundbreaking production.

Our intent is to provide listeners access to a wide range of subject matter experts and industry leaders they can relate to—a diverse set of voices and recognized authorities on topics that impact emergency preparedness and workplace safety.

Our first episode features Paul Yura, warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service. In this episode, Paul draws on his 30 years of experience to provide actionable advice for organizations to protect their employees and business in advance of severe weather events.

Our aim is for The Employee Safety Podcast to be far more than a once-a-week check-in with our listeners. After all, when issues arise, it’s important to have a network of people to lean on for advice and resources available to help you answer the difficult questions.

One of our primary goals with this podcast is to build a community around the topic of employee safety. We want to create a dialogue between employee safety professionals focused on what is working right now in the field. We’ll do this by tailoring our material to the concerns of people actually in the trenches, doing the work, and encountering issues in their everyday work. We’ll invite our listeners to provide feedback and participate in the discussions happening every week.
